Supporting the Podcasting 2.0 Standard

Podcasting 2.0 is an open-source initiative that introduces a set of RSS tags designed to enhance podcast features. These tags enable capabilities like episode transcripts, personalized recommendations, and more, extending the existing RSS podcasting standard.

Although unadopted by Spotify, these tags are supported by other major platforms such as Apple Podcasts and Pocket Casts, and are crucial in provided a standard way to improve accessibility, discoverability, and rich experiences for podcast listeners.

Jellypod's Support for Podcasting 2.0

We support the following Podcasting 2.0 tags in our RSS feeds:

  • <podcast:guid>: A globally unique identifier for the podcast.
  • <podcast:transcript>: Timestamped subtitles of the episode audio in SRT format.
  • <podcast:locked>: Provides permission to migrate a feed.
  • <podcast:person>: Credits for (AI) hosts and guests.
  • <podcast:episode>: The number of the episode in the podcast series.
